Marcey Brightwell

Marcey Anne Brightwell was a former News10 Political Reporter at KXTV in Sacramento, California. She's now a Deputy Managing Director for Rose and Kindel Grayling Communications in Sacramento.

Marcey was born on April 20, 1968 (Age 41) in Vallejo, California. Prior to joining News10 in October 2001, Marcey worked as a Bureau Chief/Correspondent for Capitol Television News Service, a Sacramento-based political television newsfeed serving two dozen stations throughout California from 1994-2001. Before reporting for the Capital TV news service, her first TV job was at KRCR-TV Channel 7 in Redding, California from 1991-1994.

Marcey graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government/Journalism in 1990. That is where she gained her passion for politics in California, which she considers herself a political junkie.

"Standing in the hallways for hours at a time, referring to Big Five budget meeting takeouts, "I figured I just can't do this for another year." Said Brightwell in a statement to the bee.

Marcey is marathon runner who enjoys reading and classic boating. She currently resides in the Natomas area just north of Downtown Sacramento.
